An Update

Fall is here!

I can't believe fall is here and almost gone! Adam and I continue to remain busy between Adam being involved with youth ministry and me getting a new job in September. Yes, you heard right...I got a job at another hospital in Indianapolis working in an neuro/trauma intensive care unit. It's been stressful at times, rewarding at times, frustrating at times, and crazy at times, but I have no doubt that God directed my steps here. I am looking forward to the new skills I will accrue and the people and patients I will meet. The staff has been incredibly helpful and friendly. I am blessed to work in a great profession. So enough about me...

Last weekend Adam ran in a half marathon with his buddy Thomas (who ran a marathon). Adam's been training for months and I'm so proud of him. He has returned to his love of running since we got married...thankgoodness he chose an active hobby with all his energy!

Ginger remains...well, crazy. We have had her for over a year now. I am so thankful for a faithful four-legged friend who always pounces on us in the morning with wet kisses, and greats us when we walk through the door. And who can forget how she burrows under the covers to stay warm...she's almost been squished a couple times. Adam and I's favorite days together are spent walking with her on the trail or spending an afternoon at a park...we have to enjoy it while we can...winter is coming. urgggg!

In closing, God continues to remind both of us of being content in all circumstances. Our lives are in a constant state of change. I use to think we'd eventually be able to get 'settled in.' But am realizing it's more about living in the moment and not for the future (my hopes). It's not about waiting to finally arrive...it's about being content where God has you. While adjustments and change can be hard, it also teaches you to rely on God and not become dependent on yourselves. After all, wouldn't it be a bad sign if we didn't see God moving or working in us? I hope to never get 'comfortable.' This world is too short. Every breath we take is a gift from God and at any moment he could call us home. Off to seize the night with a little shut eye and spend time with the ones I love. We are blessed! Can't wait for the end result: an eternity with our heavenly father, a reunion with our loved ones, being free from our debilitating earthly bodies, praising God with all the angels and saints, no more tears, sorrows, fears, or struggles. We will be home where our souls have yearned to be for so long.

              Isaiah 40
 1 "Comfort, comfort my people,
       says your God.
 2 Speak tenderly to Jerusalem,
       and proclaim to her
       that her hard service
       has been  completed,
that her sin has been paid for...
5 And the glory of the LORD will
       be revealed, and all mankind
       together will see it.
For the mouth of the LORD
       Has spoken."
